Sunday June 14: Renewed ‘Great Divide’ planting
After cancelling last week’s ‘Great Divide’ planting because of rain storms, organizers for the Miquelon Watershed Stewardship Committee’(MWSC) are pleasantly suprised by the number of people joining an event this Sunday June 14 to plant the trees & seeds that remain.

You are invited to join a dedicated group of participants at 1:00 PM this Sunday, June 14th, to ensure that trees and seeds acquired for the original event are planted.
For more information or to confirm your participation in the June 14 event, please send a messsage to gf@gfoundation.ca.
Please reconfirm, even if you had already notified us of your intention to attend the original event.
Follow up potluck dinner
All participants are invited to a follow-up potluck dinner at the GFoundation Centre, which is located 10 minutes from the planting site. However, you must confirm your attendance. As well, please click here for Kathy Owens (780, 217 3512) if you plan to contribute food to the event.

The annual ‘Great Divide’ event has become a springboard for encouraging tree planting, as well as other wetland and biodiversity activities on a wider scale, within the Biosphere and beyond.
The Global Foundation’s MWSC is co-hosting the ‘Great Divide’ event with the Battle River Watershed Alliance (BRWA) and the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA).
While the size of the June 14 planting event has been scaled down because of budget constraints following the cancellation of the original event, organisers are confident that its core purpose and spirit will be preserved through the dedicated efforts of volunteers this Sunday.

You can also help by buying 50/50 wetland raffle ticket
The Great Divide planting is being organised, despite financial challenges for many organisations. Hosting, both June 07 AND June 14 was also unexpected. Our 50/50 Wetland Fundraiser should be able to cover our ‘Great Divide’ cost. However, this depends on people buying tickets (below).

As the winner you take half the Grand Christmas Jackpot, Other half goes to tree planting costs.
