In 2025 GF created the “Miquelon Watershed Stewardship Committee” and adopted a practical focus on 120,000 acres (48,500 hectares) of land surrounding its Education Centre in Alberta, where wetlands of global significance prevail – all are within the southern portion of the United Nations-designated Beaver Hills Biosphere (BHB).

GF created the committee by involving landowners from the region, with representatives from key conservation, indigenous and watershed organizations, municipal counties, Alberta Parks, as well as business.  The committee is focusing on the terrestrial aspect of watershed management with intentions of achieving indirect enhancement of water quality and quantity in the waterbodies and wetlands within the specific portion of the Biosphere watershed
