{"id":2154,"date":"2024-04-29T13:19:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T19:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gfoundation.ca\/staging\/7325\/?post_type=news&#038;p=2154"},"modified":"2024-05-07T13:58:53","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T19:58:53","slug":"gfoundation-tree-planting-for-2024-begins","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/gfoundation.ca\/staging\/7325\/news\/gfoundation-tree-planting-for-2024-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"GFoundation Tree Planting Begins"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"mobileWidthFormating wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">GFoundation Tree Planting 2024 begins Sunday, June 2nd World Environment Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The GFoundation will kick off its tree planting program for 2024 at its headquarters on Sunday June 2nd, to mark the beginning of World Environment Week, and has plans to plant over 1,000 trees with landowners, at and surrounding its headquarters, according to Winston Gereluk, President of the Global Foundation for Social Harmony and Sustainable Development (GF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are appealing to our members and volunteers to be part of this effort,\u201d said Gereluk. \u201cWith their help, we should be able to comfortably plant 18,000 trees by 2025, a goal we set when we first began planting\u201d. World Environment Day is on June 05 when planting will be completing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<hr class=\"is-style-wide wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;background-color:#80808078;color:#80808078\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GFoundation will plant trees at or near its headquarters located near Tofield &amp; Camrose, Alberta for World Environment Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sunday June 02 GF tree planting<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Orientation: <\/strong>1:00pm followed by tree planting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Potluck Dinner in the Late Afternoon:<\/strong> Campfire, food, and live music<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information or to confirm, email <a href=\"mailto:gf@gfoundation.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gf@gfoundation.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Volunteers are covered by the Alberta Workers&#8217; Compensation Boards (WCB)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"is-style-wide wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;background-color:#80808078;color:#80808078\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gereluk urges volunteers to confirm their participation for June 02 as soon as possible by sending a message to <a href=\"mailto:gf@gfoundation.ca\">gf@gfoundation.ca<\/a> and to receive additional details about the planting day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s tree planting will take place at or on properties near GFs\u2019 headquarters near Tofield, Alberta.
