Miquelon Watershed Stewardship Committee (MWSC) of the Global Foundtion was created in 2024, with a practical focus on more than 180,000 acres (48,500 hectares) of land surrounding the GFoundation’s Activity Centre in Alberta, where wetlands of global significance prevail – all are within the southern portion of the United Nations-designated Beaver Hills Biosphere (BHB).
MWSC was created by involving land holders from the region, with representatives from four rural counties, key conservation, indigenous and watershed organizations, Alberta government, as well as business. The bottom of this page shows the organisations that are involved. Or CLICK HERE FOR A LIST.
MWSC looks at the terrestrial aspect of watershed management to achieve direct or indirect enhancement of water quality & quantity in our nearby waterbodies and wetlands that make up the southern portion of the Beaver Hills Biosphere (BHB)
